When the fake friend wanted to “Marry my Husband”.
Marry my Husband is just another of the many amazing drama that Park Min-Young has led.
From “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” to “Healer” and “When the Weather is Fine”, they are only a few of the many titles in her career. Marry my Husband, not surprisingly, is just another success.
Based on a webtoon, it uses time-travel to bring back our leading lady after an unfortunate accident. Her life was everything but perfect, and all because of her friend and not so decent husband. But luckily for her, time travelling to the past allowed her to change her destiny and finally gain happiness for the very first time.

THE WEBTOON
You read it correctly.
Marry my Husband is in fact not only a K-drama, but the story was inspired by a Webtoon and a Webnovel by the same author. Though with a few differences here and there, Marry my Husband is following the original plot with quite some talent. The K-drama adds a few changes and deliver its story in the best way possible. What’s more there is absolutely nothing disappointing about it. The actors and the team behind the scene gave their absolute best to the story and you will not be disappointed by how it will turn out. I would totally advise you to have a read at both, if you can.
And if you wish, you may also have a look at some of these K-drama with Webtoon attached. Who knows, maybe you will like some of them.
MARRY MY HUSBAND – REVIEW
Everything started with a failed marriage and a fake friend who only wanted to hurt her.
Quite a charming start, right? I have to say, I don’t remember if I started this drama because I knew the webtoon, or if the drama came first. Sure enough, Park Min-Young’s sole presence was enough to let me start the drama and she did not disappoint.
“Marry my husband” is not the first time traveling K-drama, and if you like this form of drama I am sure you will enjoy watching this as well. For those who have read the webtoon first, you will notice the differences within the story. Yet rather than being disappointed by them, I find the differences to be quite entertaining.
In adaptation, sometimes, a big problem is to keep the essence of the story while also surprising the fan. I understand the necessity of making changes in order to satisfy both new audience and those who already knows the story. I also understand how from the reader side, seeing changes in a story they may love is not what they were expecting or wanted to see. However, it appears the novel may be much closer to the drama than its webtoon counterpart.
Overall, the story is funny, and for everyone who like the old good makeup moment, Park Min-Young’s transformation within the drama will only be happy. Rather than her usual long hair, they will be surprised seeing her rocking an amazing short cut during one of the episodes.
Family and Friendship own a great part of the story. My favorite must be Choi Gyu-Ri’s Hee -Yeon, an absolute gem of both sister and friend. Her character was just amazing, hilarious and her facial expression just made me laugh. Her brother is no less. His love for Ji-Won is strong and their relationship so sweet you would be sad they didn’t date since day one. I mean, if you watch the drama you will know but still. They should have just rushed.
Hands down this is a drama I would urge you to watch, as I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
And if you are an Army, the BTS’s references within the story will only make you happy.
Are you going to watch it?
Hope you will enjoy, Marianna.
