What WILL you FIND in my Urban Fantasy Book (with Video)

A House of Scarlet Souls is the first book in a larger series called The Eternals, and also a story that I had in my pocket for truly so long. I wrote the first ever draft when I was in High School (High School!) but I only got back to it recently. I obviously made a lot of changes, we are after all speaking about a story and characters first imagined by a teenagers full of tv crushes. But then, with time, the story and the character became more and more close to what you can see on page.

But after all, no book is ever the same (and mine too), so like all it has its characteristic that may or may not spark an interest in you. As a writer, I can obviously and only hope you will enjoy the book and the character. But well, before giving you the chance, allow me to talk you over some part of my book.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW

There are a few specific elements about my book that I would like to walk you through.

When is this? How old are They?
A House of Scarlet Souls is an urban fantasy book, set in modern time and with all the main characters older than 21. So, if you are looking for a story with older characters, this might be for you.

Romance, is there any?
A House of Scarlet Souls is not a romance based book. Romance IS a part of the story, and there are various romantic subplots. However, the story itself does not revolve around a specific couple. There are obvious influence on the latter, but ultimately the focus is on Veronika’s journey (the protagonist) and a few other characters.

Is there any spice?
The quick answer is No. While the book has all (or at least majority of) adult characters, spice is not a part of this book. I wanted it to be something that everyone could read.

How fast will the couple get together?
The romance is a slowburn. You won’t see couples together after a couple of chapters, so if you like seeing couple spending time and time together as everything but a couple, this book will be for you. Dislike to Lovers? Check. But the lovers? There will be an ocean in the middle to keep you entertained before getting there.

How’s that family going?
Well, Veronika’s family is the exact reason why she wants to make sure she could be the best Huntress. The love Veronika feels for her mum is her driving force into this elective and unforgiven world of the Hunters.
But of course, there’s more than just family… sort of. Found Family is another of the tropes you can find in this book. People who you can trust, and came to love, even if you don’t share even the smallest of the DNA.

Everyone is always right.
At least that’s what we like to think, especially if we are speaking about ourselves. But with this book, I wanted to explore how the truth might chance depending on who is speaking. Who is telling the story? Who is actually the hero, or the enemy? There are so many nuances, often time changing on the subject of those attentions.

What do you think? Have I sparked any interest?
I would love to know! But you can also read more from my readers on Goodreads, or on my Instagram (where I shared all the reviews from the Book Tour!).
