WELCOME to Samdalri? Running there RIGHT NOW
Welcome to Samdalri has many things that convinced me to give it a chance: actors I love, how it takes place in a small town and the overall feelings attached behind the story.
Plot
Cho Yong-Pil works as a local forecaster in the Jeju Island. Sam-Dal ex partner and best friend, he stayed in Samdalri to take care of the people he love. He is famous for his uncontrollable personality whenever discussion about the changing weather comes to the studio. He is not afraid of expressing his views, even if this will only causing him to fight all the time about the local weather.
After their relationship ended, neither Yong-Pil or Sam-Dal expected to see each other again. But after coming back to Samdalri, avoiding each other seems almost impossible. And so it’s rethinking about their past relationship.

Welcome to Samdalri – My Review
I have LOVED this drama, but I think I have made clear of that already.
The acting felt natural, the relationship between the three sisters was absolutely amazing and best of all Kim Mi-Kyung was once again a mum that we cannot stop loving. I am not joking by saying that if she is around, and she is THE mum, you can be sure you are going to enjoy every second of the drama. One again, in fact, she did not disappoint. Was I surprise? Of course not. At this point just knowing she is there is going to make everything a thousand times better.
I have expressed how this drama has brought me back to my hometown and I am not joking. Like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021), I have been transported again back to a small town where everyone knows everyone. Sort of, even though I came from one before moving to the UK, I never remembered names, which kinda caused -and still does now- long discussion with my grandma whenever she tries to tell me something.
But no matter how much she tries, she still never manage to make me understand who or what are we talking about.
Nevertheless, the setting brought me back to memories and I won’t lie by saying that I wish one day to go back with my company and film my own movie right there, where everything started.
As every k-drama of this genre, it was quite obvious what was going to happen. I wasn’t watching expecting a surprise, but only to enjoy the setting, stories and relationship the team has created for this amazing story.
Special note to the amazing Sam-Dal (the dog who caused confusion for a few minutes within the drama). The cutie had little time but I was captured without any complains. Wishing there was more.
Actually, I have to say the truth. There is one thing I didn’t like about the drama.
Why? Why did Jin-Dal and Dae-Yeong didn’t get more time? I mean, the obvious, there is just so much someone can do in a 16 episodes drama. But I need more. I refused to think there will be nothing more with them.
Please someone cast them in a k-drama together. Or make a spin off.
Welcome to Samdalri: Fly with me. I already found the theme.
And you? Have you watched the drama or are you considering starting it?
Happy binge-watching, Marianna
