Learn Fashion from It’s Okay not to be Okay

Ever head of the K-drama “It’s Okay not to be Okay” which I already talked about here? If the answer is no, then you should start watching this fantastic show from 2020 and maybe getting some inspiration from its lead Ko Moon-Young. Her wardrobe it’s everything but ordinary, and let me tell you each piece fits her character so well throughout the entire show, representing her own journey in the k-drama.

It’s Okay not to be Okay it’s a story about Moon Kang-Tae (employed in a psychiatric ward), his autistic brother Moon Sang-Tae and Ko Moon-Young, a talented writer with an antisocial personality disorder.

While working at the hospital Kang-Tae meets Moon-Young, who starts to form a romantic obsession for Kang-Tae. The two were connected in their past as children and as a result, Moon-Young starts to follow him everywhere.

But while it may seems as a simple romance, It’s Okay not to be Okay is much more than that. The k-drama is a story about healing, finding comforts in others and also unraveling many secrets hidden for a long time.

If the trailer may have convinced you, then I would totally advise you to watch it. And if not, then just keep reading to find an insight over some of the best clothes wore by Moon-Young.

Now, I should start by repeating that Moon-Young clothes are never ordinary. There are piece which someone may defines as bold, but they actually show the artistic and strong character of the lead.

You may have notice two specifics elements that those outfits seems to share:

Those outfits are always using belts which creates a pattern and structure. Belts can work as a simple accessory but used together with her clothes they allow her to shape her figure. They are never the same material and yet mixed with the outfit they became a fashion element.
But the main element that those outfits are showing are the shoulders, and how her clothes are always playing with them. From pointy shoulders to soft or hard shoulders her piece are never that simple. If the accessories are not enough, her shirts will always attract your attention and letting you know she is the moment.

However, Moon-Young does not need to constantly show up with artistic choices. More simple choices in both colors and style can also fit any occasion. However, they still have some specials details though almost invisible. For example, a dress can have a bow (almost invisible considering it has the same pattern), or it can be close to a sheer dress with mini shapes and figures showing the skin. But my favorite is probably the two piece, which don’t you think looks quite similar to the one IU was wearing in Hotel del Luna?

However again, the main rule is that you should never be apologetic. No matter what others think, if you want to wear a colorful outfit with a giant bow on your shoulder or a hat which is probably bigger than the entire planet you should do that without regrets! Moon-Young is always bold with her choices, even when she may looks strange among others. Instead, she shows her true colors and live her life wearing what she wants and how she wants. Which is kinda the main fashion rules you should follow in your daily life.

Hope you liked it, and hope you will rush watching (or re-watching) It’s Okay not to be Okay.
